Luis Aguerrevere

Luis E Aguerrevere, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychological Associate. He is from Barquisimeto, Venezuela and is fluent in English and Spanish. He has a B.S. in psychology from Tennessee Technological University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Biopsychology from the University of New Orleans.

He has extensive clinical and research experience is the examination of the biopsychological factors that contribute to ADHD, anxiety, chronic pain, post-concussion syndrome, and sports performance. He is also the Director of the Human Neuroscience Laboratory in the Human Services Department at Stephen F. Austin State University. In his lab, Dr. Aguerrevere’s current projects examine the relationship between central and peripheral nervous systems activity with symptom reports.

Dr. Aguerrevere was also a top international tennis player and has worked extensively with college varsity student/athletes. During his playing days, Aguerrevere was the No. 2 ranked junior player in Venezuela and a four-year letter winner at Tennessee Tech. There, Dr. Aguerrevere was named a three-time all-conference selection, and still ranks among the school’s all-time top 10 in career wins and winning percentage. As a mentor for student-athletes at SFA and the University of New Orleans, Dr. Aguerrevere has extensive experience helping with their study and writing skills, helped set athletic and academic goals and control their anxiety during competition. At Connect, Dr. Aguerrevere completes evaluations, executive function skills training (ages 6 – adult), and will be providing therapy on a limited basis.
